WITHOUT HOPE SERIES

My current work is in response to the Gulf of Mexico oil spill. The series is called, "Without Hope". The blues represent the colour of the ocean as it was, and the browns show how it is now.

The characters try to put a face on the men and women of the Louisiana coast line who's lives have been turned upside down by the disaster and the paintings aim to allow the viewers to connect empathetically with these people.

Another painting to add to the Without Hope series. This one reflects the anguish the shrimp farmers are still facing. One farmer reports of, "black spots" that are appearing on his shrimp.

OIL SPILL

FOLLOWING THE OIL SPILL THAT SAVAGED THE GULF OF MEXICO, WHEN BP'S DRILLING PLATFORM, "DEEP WATER HORIZON" EXPERIENCED A BLOW OUT, I DECIDED TO DO A SERIES IN RESPONSE TO THIS.

THE FIRST PAINTING REFLECTS THE LIVES OF FARMERS ON THE GULF COAST AND AID WORKERS WHO WERE STRUCK BY THE ENORMITY OF THE DISASTER.
